How do i know fuel tank capacity

Question

I dont have the manual or any documentation for my van. Are the specs printed somewhere on the vehicle itself? I need to know so I can buy a new gas cap that fits correctly.

tell the guy at the auto parts store. the make an model. he can pull it up on his computer. no problem.....

you know what year of van you have and you know what size of motor you have is pretty much all you need to know... if you have ever filled the tank before it shows up on the fuel pump i would think that would be close enough to know how much it holds

all you have to do is give the guy at the parts counter the year and make of it, he can tell you the capacity of it,they have all that on computer,and they will know what cap fits it,its really simple,good luck.

they have specs like this for many / most cars.  That's how I found out that my Civic has 10.9 gallon tank.

Your gas cap has nothing to do with size (capacity) of the tank.  Just go to autoparts dealer and they will find you one that work for you.

Fill er up, the auto parts store can get you the right cap see autozone

Drive it to empty and then fill it to see how much it takes.

for the fuel cap u should be able to get on that goes to the car not the tank size. Go to a local auto parts store and ask them to check it for u. Im sure they will have one instock. A lot of them are the same.
