  1. My red eared slider always wants food when I walk by. Don't give in. For the size it sounds like you are giving it enough food. I would add some veggies to the diet. You can also get small feeder fish from the pet store to feed her. This gives her exercise while she chases it. Along with keeping her from getting bored and it stimulates natural behavior.

  2. It sounds like she's on a good diet now. Though I highly recommend integrating protein, fruits, and vegetables into her diet. Once they reach about 4 inches they're considered adults, though if she really is only 7 months I doubt she's anywhere near that size. I've had my babies about a year and a half, and the bigger one is maybe 2-3 inches. If she is that big though, you can start feeding every other day. But you shouldn't feed more than once a day, and 10 or so pellets should be enough. I would also make sure that she has fresh produce available, change it daily. And give her protein once a week.

Fruits and veggies : dark leafy greens (no iceberg lettuce), carrots, tomato, kale, mustard greens, collard greens, zucchini, squash, cucumber, banana, apple, papaya, melon, grapes, berries, green pepper

Protein: crickets, meal worms, wax worms, earth worms, krill, shrimp, blood worms, feeder fish, small snails, insects

  3. Can she still withdraw into her shell? If not, she's too fat. If so, you are doing something right.
