  1. Check the manufacturer's website on specifications for the size of new cases.

  2. check the dimensions. what size case do you have? motherboards aren't that big.

  3. If I knew what your system case was,(Computer name and model, or aftermarket computer case), plus what motherboard, I could give you a much better answer.

However, you have the system case in front of you,(I assume), and if you have a tape measure, here are the dimensions for all form factor sizes of motherboards.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Motherboard...  At the bottom, it lists the sizes in a chart, and list the dimensions. These are in millimeters. If you use inches like I do, you'll need this to convert mm's to inches. http://www.metric-conversions.org/length...  (Type the Millimeter size in the box, above Go>. Click on Go. Not trying to insult your intelligence)

Full Tower case can accept many sizes of mobo's. Generally ATX and Micro-ATX. I have seen some that will accept Mini-ATX.

Mid-Tower? ATX and Micro-ATX. Again, IF I knew what system case we're talking about here!

http://www.pcguide.com/ref/case/styles.h... (Watch it! Tried to do a 'pop-up' on me! Mozilla Firefox kicked the pop-up to the curb! lol!)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_ca... (Thought I'd throw this in.)

There is a sour grape for computer cases from Pre-made computers, however. Some used the BTX form factor design!

  4. Most motherboards and cases these days are ATX.

Depending on what case and mobo you have will depend on whether or not the mobo will fit. If you have an ATX case then obviously ATX mobos will fit in it. Along with mATX, which are smaller versions of ATX mobos. You can also get mATX cases.
