How do i know if i'll be getting a headgear?

my orthodontist hasn't said that i'll be getting them but my friend was asking me if i was going to get them & he asked me if i have like little things sticking on the sides all the way in the back. & i do.

but idk, does it mean i am.

im not really sure, but my sister had to have it, and she had this thing called an expander, for the head gear.

If you have an overbite, you probably won't

I didn't have too, i think only people with expanders do, but i could be wrong.

Just ask at your next ortho exam

If you had your consultation, which I'm pretty sure most orthodontists do, he should've said if he was going to give you headger. The little "holes" in the back that you're seeing, they come on all the bands for those teeth that they order i assume...if he hasn't said anything about it, you're probably not going to get it! (Thank goodness...) If you're still not entirely positive, either call ur ortho or ask him at your next appt. :)
