How do i know if i have a 20 amp circuit or a 15 amp?

I would open breaker box door and look at breaker,  It will have written on face of breaker indicating the amp of breaker.

really simple, check your breaker box and see what circuit breaker turns it off or on.  When you do that check the wiring size to make sure it's 12-2 for a 20 amp circuit.  If its 14-2 you might want to fix it.
