  1. To speed it up, make sure you EAT. Nothing slows your metabolism more than starving yourself. Exercise boosts the metabolism as well - especially strength training. Muscle burns energy. As you lose weight, you want to be sure that you are losing FAT without losing muscle. You need to do weight training to maintain your lean muscle.  


  2. LOL can you eat what you want and not gain a pound? There's your first sign. Speeding it up takes exercise. After working out you keep burning calories for hours.

  4. If you can eat a lot of food and gain virtually no weight, you have a fast metabolism. If you can't seem to put on muscle mass, you have a fast metabolism. People with a fast metabolism are very thin, even scrawny, because their bodies metabolize the fat and muscle on their bodies if they don't eat often enough.

    To boost your metabolism, think about boosting a fire: if you add a couple large logs to a fire during the way, it'll fizzle. If you feed it medium-sized branches several times a day, it'll roar. Eat 5-6 small meals a day. Of what? Lean protein and natural carbs. Feed your body what it needs and wants...not processed sugar, not a bunch of junk!
