How do i know if i need a better video card?

the other day i bought command and conquer tiberium wars and wen i put the cd in nothing comes up.....just a few noises from the hard drive.

  1. Go to the game manufacture's website and download any patches. Then go to the website that made your current video card and make sure you have the most up to date drivers.

    If that doesnt fix the problem then we will need more information to further asses the issue.


  2. yep that happen to me too i bought a video card and the game played fine.

  3. Well if it is older than say 2 years,it may need to be updated.

  4. That may be because your autorun is messed up. Were you able to go to My Computer and click the cd/dvd drive?

    that's not an indication that your video card is bad. If the game runs choppy or slow even with settings on low, then you'd need a new drive.

  5. hmm... dunno what the problem is.  it isn't your video card, because it would come up, install, start the game, and then when you're playing the game it would just run like c**p

  6. You know if your computer is really slow.

    Noises from the HD has nothing to do with the video card. You're pushing your computer too much.

    Have your HD checked.

  7. The minimum requirements r usually listed on the back of the box...Sounds to me like u do indeed need a new video card.
