  1. First of all,  if it starts to hurt...get some stuff called "Ambisol"(spelling) to numb it and brush your teeth REALLY good after you eat something.

And yes, it sounds like an abscess. If it's already a lump, then there is probably liquid in it... brushing will probably get rid of it before you even get to the dentist.

and if you feel it pop(I know it sounds gross, but you'll probably taste something bitter) rinse you're mouth with mouth wash too make sure it's clean.

Brush your teeth and floss more to help prevent it in to future.

  2. Dear it may be an abscess, but you don't have to be scared about it. If its not painful it fine. take a little care and everything will be alright. Keep that area as clean as possible by rinse and brushing. avoid biting on it for some time. and be careful not to apply heat to that area. don't apply gel or pain relief balm on it. If you feel pain is increasing you can take pain killer pill if necessary. Look forward to your appointment. take care.

  3. I had one once and i woke up and my whole jaw and nose was swolen. Go to the doctor asap. Monday is kinda far, call and see if they have cancelations so you can get in.  Call 2 times a day if you have to.

  4. It definitely sounds like an abscess to me. Being that Monday is a whole day and a weekend away, you should call the office back and tell them you don't want to wait the whole weekend to be seen. This could really blow up in the next couple of days. They can take an xray of the one tooth, and prescribe an antibiotic until they can fix it next week, but this does count as a dental emergency and they need to get you in! Good luck!
