  1. Go ahead and get him a buddy. Is hes hiding a lot if so. get a buddy and it builds his confidence to come out in the open of your tank.

  2. I don't think he is lonely, dwarf gouramis are territorial and like to have their bit of water to themselves, if you get another male there is a good chance he will chase and torment it.

They are related to betta fish, and they also like to live by themselves.

  3. ive alwasy been a fan of gouramis and glofish, and ive had both (very compatible fish), and 8 gallons is pretty small as you already know, but i think if yours is a male, and you get a female of the same kind (if urs is a neon blue dwarf gourami of a powder blue one), you should probably be ok, but just be ready incase they decide to show their aggressive side, which most gouramis have. i have had flame gouramis, neon blue dwarf gouramis, opaline gouramis, paradise fish, and they all are great to keep because of their manerisms. i i would go for it, and if it doesnt work, i would get a few more glofish to make them more happy in their school....good luck with it man
