How do i know if my cockatiels have already mated?

i have a pair of cockatiels they already made a nest bowl inside the nest box and they have had the box for about a week so how do i know if theyve alread mated. i have noticed that the first couple of days he wouldnt let her in and like 3 days ago both are in the box together

How do you know if your cockatiels have already mated?  

Wait around for chicks.  Frankly, my advice is to stop poking around in there, particularly since you are new at this.

Let nature take it's course, and leave the birds alone.  You wouldn't be doing much mating if somebody kept opening the door, would you?  The birds have done just fine for a million years, these guys can work things out without your help.

If you keep bothering them, it will do more harm than good.
