How do i know if my cut is infected?

the cut on my arm is small but its kind of puffy, and its red but only because i just washed it, there isn't a scab appering on it either

May be healing from the inside, rather than scabbing over, and then healing from the inside.  Put some neosporing on it with a bandaid over night and you should be ok in the morning.

Apply neosporin to help decrease risk of infection. If it stays looking red/puffy/raised/warm you need to contact a doctor or if you start to experience a fever. This can also be a sign of infection. Make sure to get plenty of Vitamin C, this helps boost the immune system.
