How do i know if my finches like eachother? How can you tell if they have mated already?

i have had them for 3 days. is that a long enough period to even ask these sort of questions. also they have everything provided like a woven nest,cuttlebone,food,and water. they go back and forth in the nest but thats it they dont take nesting material or anything.sorry kind of long but an answer would really help. thanks (:

Your birds are new give them time. Would you mate with someone you new for only 3 days? And are you even sure there not the same s*x?
