How do i know if my goldfish is pregnant or just fat?

gold fish lay eggs, they dont mate with a male and give out live babies. they have unfertilized eggs, and a male may come and fertilize it.

fish lay eggs so it depends. oh and do you have a male fish that would have got it pregnant. if not its just fat

The fish will show signs if pregnant their tummies will swell usally from gill plates to anal fins this makes the tummy lighter. In many fish you can see lumps and clusters. Femals can have several eggs and the male and female will eat if not removed as soon as eggs hatch about 4-5 days later.

if you feed her the proper amount of food there is no reason she should be fat, just keep an eye on her and if her stomach gets bigger than most likely she is pregnant.
