  1. I'd just watch the new or something and they'll tell then look out the window a couple of times or so an hour.

  2. I highly recommend you pay attention to national weather service forecast discussions. Meteorologists at the NWS will talk about the various conditions that will affect upcoming weather. Also, observe the current wtaches and warnings issues by the NWS. You may find all of this and more at the NWS website.

  3. just keep an eye on your weather channel

  4. Well, nobody can really predict that. If they are calling for a good chance of widespread storms, then there is a safe bet you will get something, but if they are isolated, and they are predicting storms to pop up and develop, they can't predict whose house or what city will see rain and what city won't.  Just be cautious and just plan on storms but don't cancel your plans. Severe storms are even harder because several storms don't turn severe. Just keep watching your local weather and keep checking weather.com and check the radar for storms. It is also very useful if you have a cell phone to get mycast 5 installed. It only cost 2.99 a month. That way you can keep checking your radar to see if storms are in the area.

  5. Keep an eye on the weather visit http://www.weather.gov for you local weather and http://www.spc.noaa.gov for info on severe  weather.

  6. The National Weather Service has forecasts that will say (for example):

    Breezy(20% chance)

    Severe storms (90% chance)

    Scattered storms(50% chance)

Also, you can check their radar and their "National Maps".

The tab, National Map, will have areas that are yellow that say "Severe t-storms possible" or something like that.  The radar will show you where storms are developing.
