someone i used to be friends with owed me money. he gave me a sports memorabilia to hold as collateral but has never repaid me. it's not anything i care for (a piece of football "art") but i really need the money he owes me. he just recently told me he doesn't plan on paying me back and that the piece of work is reported as stolen. i have the certificate of authenticity and the picture is in perfect condition. how can i find out if what he says is true and how can i sell the daggum thing so i can get my money back? it's a college football oil painting supposedly worth about 4 grand

  1. have it appraised a few towns over and sell it on ebay.

  2. take him to court, lol

  3. I'd burn his f'n house down.

If that doesn't seem like a good option, perhaps you should call the cops and explain the situation. You won't get in trouble, HE will. If they say it's not stolen, sell it. If they say it is....well....he should have payed you back.....

Even better, you should call him and inform him you're going to ask the cops what to do about it and be honest with them about how you got it. Maybe he'll get more interested in paying you your money....
