  1. it could be your injectors, if they are clogged and not putting enough fuel in your cylinder,s u wont have any power, does the car idle fine, and drive ok at slow speeds?

  2. go to a mechanic that will spend the time diagnosig the problem instead of just making a blanket statement like it's the injection system .  A experienced Mec should be able to pinpoint the exact problem fairly easily be it injectors fuel rail fuel pump regulator or annything else.  Get a second opinion . Good luck

  3. for 235.00 +parts the mechanic better know what is wrong with it

if not find a new one.....in the meantime there are a couple of things you can do yourself to see if it is a fuel problem    change your fuel filter, and put an injector cleaner in the tank to see if that helps .....autozone.com has an online repair manual that can help you with a few problems

  4. sounds like you need to try a different mechanic.

  5. what the h**l! injection , pulling! ok lets back up . he is sugjesting that you may have a bad fuel injector or two I suspect why he doesn't know cofuses me. he doesn't sound reliable to me he should have put it on the scope, run a program check and read the codes being thrown by the engine. the problem could be so so many reasons many arent even dirrectly the fuel! you need another shop. his price sounds low right now but i'm afraid that number will rise above 2 grand real fast.

  6. If he says he's going to charge you $235 plus parts, he should be able to specify which parts he's going to replace and why. That is if he's already looked at the car and made some kind of rough estimation. It's not always possible to say exactly what part causes the trouble, maybe your car needed/needs general maintenance & service first-hand, but if he can't present an educated specification of the work he´s done or intend to do, I wouldn't trust him.

If he hasn't seen the car yet, don't let him. Find another mechanic.

  7. You are not stupid enough to let him just try replacing all kinds of parts are you?  Get rid of that mechanic immediately.  Get a couple of "estimates" and make them guarantee that what you spend money on, will fix it.  That's like so many doctors I hear of who say, "Well try this medication and maybe you'll get better."  Unless you are an idiot, do not spend money unless you know for sure what the problem is.  This mechanic is a scammer.

  8. Try taking it to a mechanic that charges diagnostics by the hour. $235 is a bit steep for a non Mercedes dealer diagnostic. I can take my 1995 Mercedes S600 to the dealer and they charge me $200 for driveability diagnostics.
