  1. Maybe a career is not for you.  Maybe you should just wait, and think, and learn, until you know what you want.  You can't have everyone tell you what you want.  You have to find out for yourself.

  2. Your passion is what you spend your time doing and you enjoy it. You're natural at it. So, just ask yourself "what do I do in my spare time that I enjoy"

  3. if you can think of anythign you really like doing, somethign you look forward to doing and a field where you see yourself at in the future that can be what youre passionate about. if youre after pursuing a career but got no certain one in mind you may opt to pick out which you think is beneficial to you in the long run, you may learn to like it and love that some day. but i still recommend you do what youre passionate about because youll feel really good having to do what you love doing

  4. This is a huge question that you may spend years answering.

I started by thinking of all of the things that gave me delight in my life:  Singing, visiting with people, talking about philosophy, seeing movies, hearing children laugh, acting, foreign language, reading books, seeing movies--obviously, you'll have  a very different list. I took a career aptitude test, and got some good information out of that--taking college courses, that sort of thing.  Reading books, watching movies, any kind of activity that can expose you to ideas (browsing unfamiliar quarters of Yahoo Answers might spark some ideas for you!).

Talk to other people about your explorations.  Other people have the ability to notice subtle changes in your behavior that you might miss--"Wow! you really got excited when you talked about that. That seems to mean something to you!"

There are some really great books on the subject you might want to look into:  What Color is Your Parachute? or Zen and the Art of Making a Living are a couple.  If you feel you may be a creative sort (or if you are terrified of having to be creative), Julia Cameron's book, The Artist's Way may open up amazing new worlds for you.

Today, I'm 44 years old, and starting my second year of the only job in my life I have ever loved. I am teaching writing at community college.

  5. I'm in the same boat as you my friend.

I'm an extremely quick learner, I have a very extensive memory, and I am highly creative.

I just don't know what I want to do.

So, for now I've just been dabbing in whatever I'm curious about. I read constantly.

The best thing I think I've done so far is establish myself among peers that I respect and look-up to.

I still can't find my purpose in life though.

    Good luck.

  6. Maybe you have no passions, maybe there's nothing for you.

Same thing here, but more than likely you'll fill this void of passionlessness (Woo!) with a wife and kids. Maybe something to keep you busy, that's what people do.

Check out Cave spelunking. That's my only recommendation and become a speleologist. It depends how curious you are.

  7. Where do you see yourself. What makes you give your attention? What do you think about that makes your heart happy? What do you think is a success.

  8. What makes you think you want a career?
