How do i know what i don't need in my add remove programs list?

my sony vaio vgn-nr220e has a lot of programs in the add remove list how do i know what to get rid of?

The easiest way is to go through the list.

If you know what something is, and you know you do not use it, it is most likely safe to remove (i.e. Kodak Easy Share Gallery)

If you do not know what it is or are not sure, DO NOT REMOVE it, as it may break something that you desperately need.

Do not mess with the Add/Remove list. The gremlins will hear about it.

If you wish to uninstall a program because you don't want the program installed, uninstall it. But let the list manage itself.
