How do i know when its fully charged?

how do i know when my iPod touch is fully charged?

and how do i know when my nintendo DS lite is fully charged?

its the first time charging my iPod touch.

but i've charged my nintendo before.

i always leave my ipod to my cell phone recharging the whole day  with it off to be on the safe side.
