  1. i say she can use the gerber spoons with the rubber on them so she doesn't hurt her gums since all her teeth may not be in yet hold out on the fork until shes about 3

  2. That is around the time I introduced my son to them. I would just give them to him and let him watch us using them. It will be a while before she is ready but they can start to learn right now. My son is now two and still has some problems sometimes. Good luck and just make sure you put something under her high-chair for when she throws the food ( an accident of course) :P.

  3. at age one they should become familiar with the spoon. when your feeding her use one spoon to feed her and giver her another. she will soon get the point and try it her self. my daughter is 18 months and shes really good with the spoon.

    hope i helped ♥

  4. Just give her a baby spoon and see what she does.

  5. If you are feeding you're child and she keeps trying to grab the spoon off you this is an indication.

My son is 13 months old I still feed him but give him a spoon as well. This way he gets to have a go but I can still make sure he's actually getting some of the food into him and not just all over him.

  6. They have to know how to use them properly at 18 months, they should be introduced by a year old to allow time to work the motor skills to use them right.

  7. There is no exact answer for this.  I work in an infant room at a daycare center and am also a mom of two boys.  I always give the child a spoon as soon as they start eating solid foods.  This way they learn that spoons are used at the meal.  Usually they just hold them at first and then they slowly start trying.  They get frustrated and throw them across the room, but eventually they catch on.  I personally never introduce a fork until they are able to use a spoon without waving it around.  Your child will use the spoon when they have enough coordination to do so.  Don't force the issue one is still very young.
