Question:

How do i know when my hot peppers are ready to pick...some are full grown now ..?

they are habanero and tobasco peppers.....they are both green right now.

  1. Habaneros and Tabascos, you brave soul!

    In Costa Rica we just SET Habaneros on top of the rice as it steamed to let the aroma and slight flavor infuse.

    Although the summer's first may be smaller, they should grow to 1 1/2 to 2 1/2". They could trurn red (most common) yellow or even white or chocolate brown,.

    Let it be at least kissed by color. Here's a good picture of Habaneros.

    Tabascos:

    Turning yellow, orange, then red, and not more than two inches long, probably.

  2. You can pick and use a few anytime but if you want  maximum flavor and heat wait until they change color.  Orange or red, depending on variety for the habanero and red for the tabasco.
