she has just recently started staring at me and her dad when we eat and opening her mouth when we do. also she is drinking a lot, before she used to drink once every 2.5- 3 hours and now it seems hourly. she is big for her age, she is the size of a 5-6 month baby but she's only 2.5 months.

  1. You have a lot more time yet, and a lot more of her big staring eyes at your food until she will actually be ready to try some of what you've got.

"The following organizations recommend that all babies be exclusively breastfed (no cereal, juice or any other foods) for the first 6 months of life (not the first 4-6 months):

    World Health Organization

    UNICEF

US Department of Health & Human Services

    American Academy of Pediatrics

    American Academy of Family Physicians

    American Dietetic Association

Australian National Health and Medical Research Council

Royal Australian College of General Practitioners

    Health Canada"

  2. well i grew up fat cuz my mom fed me 2 much but if she is hungry or thirsty just give it to her.

  3. I can say for sure that your baby is not ready for food yet.  You should wait for a few more months (recommended at 6 months, but can give food as early as 4 months).  Make sure your baby doesn't have the thrust reflex, the reflex where they push their tongues out of their mouthes; this will make it hard to eat food because she will always push it out.  It's also recommended to wait until she can sit up on her own.  The other signs are the ones you know, like showing interest in your food.
