I want to store movies(with sound) and pics....

where do i check on my computer the type of dvd i need to buy?

do i need the DVD -R or DVD+R or DVD+R DL??

  1. i use dvd+r for movies but pictures u can put on a cd-r the dvd player can still read them works great been doing it that way for years go to walmart get a pack of each u will be in there.


  2. DVD+R is your best option, it is probably the one that is most commonly used to store things like movies with sound and all that. DVD +/- R are similar, just that DVD+R has better technology for better picture and sound. My friend use to let me borrow bootleg movies he brought from some people he knew, and they were on DVD+R disks. It had very good sound and picture quality. For some reason, when my brother get movies from Netflix, he always makes a copy to keep (not to sell), and he uses DVD-R for those, just because they are half the price of DVD+R. The programs he uses are Nero and AVS DVD Copy. There are a few cheap free programs that also makes copies of DVD, like the ones in the link I gave. The forth is probably best. But, like the other guy said, CD's will work to stores pictures too. There's also no need to check, cause your computer can probably work with main types, mostly DVD/CD +/- R.
