  1. I took a 2 credit course when I was attending community college, and it was the best thing I ever did (especially now that I'm a special education teacher and I need fast fingers to complete all my paperwork).  You might be able to find a class at the local library too.

  2. take classes and/or PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE

HINT: place your fingers of the left hand(excluding the thumb) on the letters 'ASDF' respectively, and the ones of the right hand on 'JKL;' respectively. It will, with practice, be easier and faster to type if you start in that position (it will take some getting used to, but).

  3. I learned when I was a little kid with Mavis Beacon.

Obviously, you would need to purchase it.

Basically place your four left fingers on A, S, D, F and the right hand across J, K, L, and ;.

Start typing words while keeping your hands still. Get familiar with the placing of the letters. I already have an idea of where all my letters are so it's easy now. I can just type away without having to look at my keyboard except every once in a while.

REMEMBER: the most important thing is getting familiar with where the letters are located.

Start slowly, for example. Start copying or writing and practice (which can be done on Notepad or any text type of program on your computer).

  4. Practice.   Thats really it.  Look for a freeware program in google.  Use msn :P but yeah, practice is the only way

  5. Try RollerTyping Software, or some other program that makes practice fun and enjoyable. But, as said before, practice, practice, practice.

I learned with tape over the keys, so I can now type without looking at my fingers!
