How do i learn how to have better balance to be a better dancer?

  1. Yoga can help as can anything that really helps you find your center and develop the core.  Pilates, Feldenkrais, lots out there.  You need to work with the way your body is balanced and not against it.


  2. Do exercises by standing on one foot and doing rela-vays

    Practice things on flat feet and then do them on relavay, not changing anything but the position of your foot.

    Mark turns to find where your balance should be when turning.

  3. I agree with the Yoga. But also find some fun co-training outlets such as rock climbing or learning tightrope walking. These will train additional muscles (without bulking), center your core, and make you a more well-rounded performer. It will also allow you to make more friends outside of dance school, who are usually always competing with you.
