  1. easypooltutor.com has a lot of instructional material and some videos for free.

Dr Dave's site is a good place for instructional articles and some video examples. It is free.

The library system here has at least 10 different pool books, and several instructional videos. I'm sure yours has something similar if you live in a fairly large city.

It doesn't hurt to look on youtube. I've seen a couple videos on there that were pretty good, and I'm sure there's more.

  2. er

  3. I have no doubt that you will be able to learn the rules and possibly the theory behind the techniques by referring to DVDs, web sites and so on. However, you will only really know how to play by practicing. The cheapest way to do this is to join a billiards club in your area.

  4. your local library will take care of the lessons and technique tutoring.

  5. Go to Ebay and Purchase the book,  "Standard Book of Pool and Billiards" by Robert Byrnes. There are also some videos listed. These are an invaluable source of information and a must have for pool players of every skill level.

If you are 18 years of age or older, contact the local APA league operator in your area. They will be able to find a team for you to play (regardless of your level of experience) so you can gain some practicle experience.

Find a pool hall, rent a table, and practice what you read and what you saw in the video as much as possible. Ask someone behind the counter if there is a house player that will work with you. There is ALWAYS a seasoned player around that loves to play and share their knowledge with a novice player. Don't PAY for lessons. There are too many people that will help you at no charge. Besides, join an APA pool league and you'll be getting all the lessons you can stand.

Use a house cue to get started. There are different weights so you'll have to find out what's comfortable for you. I just don't suggest going out and paying several hundred dollars for a cue when you dont' know what you need yet.

  6. I have been playing since I was 13, now I'm 18 and I'm pretty good, but, but i leaned quick because if I didn't, I would be hustled, or lost my turn. try playing with friends, or if you live in los angeles, i don't mind having a buddy interested in becoming a pool shark.

  7. www.backdoor.com

  8. http://www.expertvillage.com/

Here is a series of videos called: How to Play Pool for Beginners:

    http://www.expertvillage.com/videos/pool...

All the videos on this site are awesome. It's all you need to know to learn to play pool. If you search the site, you will find advanced billiards and so on.

  9. I'm sure there are books and video's out there and you'll probably find them at Amazon or the like you could also try a billiards league or official rules site they my have recommendations on what books or video's they deem to be in line with or up to date with current rules and standards of the game.

  10. You can play billards online at places like msn zone but you need a hotmail account there.  Try http://zone.msn.com/en/bankshot/default....
