I have wanted a ferret since i was about 14 and now i am 18. I am still living at home so they still can say yes or no. i would be paying for everything i mean i make more money than my mom does!!!. i work very hard and i am responsible. i dont travel either so they would never have to take care of it.

the only reason they say no is they smell and they dont want one in the house.

i told them that i would keep it clean and i would even keep it in that garage. (It is always warm dont worry)

i dont know what else to do....HELP!!!

  1. May I ask why you live at home when youre making more money then your Mom?

    And are 18.

You cant make them say yes.

When you have your own house(if they say no)get millions of ferrets.

    haha :D

  2. ... silly goose ... just put it in your room & they'll never know ...

  3. Show them pictures of how cute ferrets are and say you are a lot older now and you will be totally responsible and give it the best care and attention and you have always wanted one!

  4. theres not much else to do. Be persistent and never give up and the feret is soon to follow

  5. well id say keep asking dont just get 1 as its not fer on the animal if youre perents give it away

  6. Even when you clean them constantly, they still stink.. even if you take out the stink glands.. i have tried EVERYTHING when my sister's dad was giving his away, cage and everything.. but nothing seems to work.

  7. Well, I had the same issue so what I did.... was bring one home without permission. haha There really wasn't much they could do about it. And I love my ferret. But after a few months, I'm starting to think he wasn't the best pet for me. He really does smell bad even if you clean his cage often. They are supposed to be able to be litter box trained but mine is only about 1/2 the time and from what i've read, that is a common problem. They will p**p in all corners of their cage and you'll have to scrub it out at least once a week. It's a lot of gross work. And I don't think it would be suitable to keep your ferret in your garage. They deserve to be inside the house. I'm actually rehoming my ferret to someone that can give it more time and affection and hopefully litter train it better. A ferret just wasn't the pet for me. Just keep it in mind. I know no one would have really changed my mind either though.

  8. I think it's better to wait when you live on your own. It'll be a lot easier for you. I'm 19 and I bought a rabbit without asking my parents and I knew from the beginning that it was going to be MY responsibility, well it is and it isn't that easy when your parents weren't accepting in the first place. They'll blame everything on me, I gotta clean it's cage all the time and when I don't they threaten me to get rid of it etc. They make it so hard and make you realize that you really should have listened to them.
