How do i let my post office recieve my package and i go pick it up later?

Im wanting to order a gift and i dont want my family to realize what i am doing, i want it to be surprised. How do i get my post office to recieve my package so i can pick it up myself?

  1. You can't. The package MUST be delivered to the home or business in which it is addressed. If it is a surpise, then you should ask one of your friends or extended family to allow it to be shipped to them & then go pick it up at their house.

    One thing you could try though, is  have the company that is mailing the item to you ship it via Priority Mail  with insurance and RESTRICTED DELIVERY. That way ONLY you can sign for the package. Even if the mailman brings it to the door & someone in your family is home, they WILL NOT be able to accept the package on your behalf. At least that way no one in your family can actually get the package & open it (ruining the surprise) BUT your family would know that there is a package and will probably be asking you what it's all about.
