How do i level my sloped driveway?

  1. If you are saying the driveway slopes from the road down towards your house, then to level the driveway, you'd have to either raise the house to the same elevation as the road, or lower the road to the same elevation as the house. Neither of these would be feasible, so you'll just have to learn to live with it. Didn't you notice this when you bought your house?


  2. you would have to lift you house. if you are concerned about water running into your house think about digging a french drain type ditch only cover it with a steel grate to allow for water to freely pass through

  3. If the roadbed is higher than your foundation, then you can't level your sloped driveway.  The proper pitch should be at least 1" in 8' (that's 1/8" per foot).  

    But if you're having a runoff problem coming down into your garage/house area, you can cut a slot across the driveway with a concrete saw, and install a 4" wide steel grate drain that the cars can go over but will allow the water to drop down into.  Then pipe it away from your house further downhill (like around the side or into a nearby low area).
