Usually routers have 4 LAN ports on them (and 1 WAN port of course).  Are you sure you have a router and not just a regular internet gateway?  If you plug a bunch of devices into a gateway with a hub or switch, whichever device talks to the gateway first will be the one (and only one) with access.

Also, for performance it's best to have a switch instead of a hub. Hubs slow the network down because all the data gets sent out all the ports.  A switch only sends the data out the appropriate port. Switches have gotten so cheap, that hubs are totally obsolete.
