  1. The Polaroid Swinger did not take 35mm film, but a specially designed pull sheet film pack. 120, I believe. They stopped producing this a good number of years back. You might be able to find some on eBay, but this is very unlikely.

  2. I once got a swinger at a bar loaded but I don't think her name was Pola Roid.

  3. Are we talking an original Polaroid Swinger?

This might be more difficult than adapting roll film cameras, because there is no place to put the 35mm take up spool.

To fit the cartridge where the polaroid film used to go, attach the 35mm cartridge to a Popsicle stick, cut to the appropriate length. You will need to attach the take up spool in the area of the negative box, so your neg will be a bit shorter than an original Polaroid.

You will also need to devise a way of keeping the 35mm roll in the film plane. The cassette side will probably be okay, but you will need something to hold it in the film plane on the take up spool side.

There is really no way to advance your film without using a changing bag. You will have to work out how many turns of the takeup spool with advance the film the right distance.

One last thing, Polaroid film from the swinger was very fast, as I recall, something like ISO 3000, so you will need to pick the fastest film you can find, and push process it.

The camera has a fixed shutter speed of 1/200, and an adjustable aperture that gets set in conjunction with a built in photometer.

    Sounds like fun. Good luck!

  4. It probably can't use 35mm film.  Polaroid cameras are typically arranged to use only special Polaroid film, which has the developing and printing capabilities built in.  Take it to a camera shop and inquire.

  5. good luck with that- let us know how it works out.

  6. Thanks for the laugh!
