  1. I was in the same boat as you about a year and a half ago..I was basically overweight for my height but I really wasn't fat? Anyway.

I changed what I ate and drank. I stopped drinking soda all together. I started eating Chicken...boneless skinless cooked in extra virgin olive oil...for dinner with non fat cottage cheese...oh I love Ranch so I changed it to low fat. Drink lots of water and juice. I eat oven roasted mesquite turkey breast for sandwiches....eat more salads. I work out occasionaly. I lost over 40 pounds all together to this day. You can have your cheat days..like one day a week or something. I am 23 I stay active in the summer with softball in the winter I work out more...I do the treadmill...a little bit of weights..crunches that sort of stuff.

Just think protein when eating, eating more protein helped me lose the weight.

  2. IT COULD BE MUSCLE! If you don't look or feel like you have excess body fat then you probably don't! The BMI calculators have those faults. They don't know how much muscle or fat you really have. Its just a basic guideline.

You never said your height. You must be under 5 feet tall to need to weigh less than 118  lbs. Generally only very short people or children weigh that much.

Measurements are more important than weight.

Measure your body at different points every week and write it down. Its a more accurate account of if you're losing SIZE instead of just watching whether you're losing WEIGHT.

    Good Luck!

  3. Sit ups are good for your stomach, I suggest laying on your back with your legs straight up on a wall, make your legs into a "v" shape and then start to do crunches, this works on your lower abs. Also eating lots of fruit and veggies as well as rice and tuna. I hope this works!
