Question:

How do i lube my bike?!?

its a mountain bike (pushbike) and iv noticed it suddenly started squeaking when i turn the handlebars...!! can this be oiled with regular bike oil stuff?? or do i need to do something else?!

also, whats the best way to keep my front suspension properly maintained? does that need oiling from time to time?? cheers!!

  1. Sounds like you have got water in the yoke, this is the part the front folks fit in to the front of the frame you could attempt to strip this down and re grease but be warned there are two sets of loose Bering's top and bottom and if not done right could end up everywhere.

    Suspension just needs wiping to keep it clean so that rust doesn't get a hold, lubrication is internal so no need to oil.


  2. It sounds as if the headset is dirty or has damaged bearings. The bearings will need regreasing and/or replacing. This won't cost much, but it is difficult to do if you don't know how, and you do need a special spanner to undo it. You might want to just take it to a bicycle shop.
