  1. go on google to find out

  2. here is a real fun project that costs about nothing.  get a piece of Styrofoam about an inch thick and the size of the inside of your tank.  using a small propane torch or any open flame; to texture the face of the foam.  it will shrink and get holes, ledges etc. if you don't like it grab another piece of foam and try again.  you can spray paint the foam and get great results if you hold the spray can to the side and shoot across the foam from different angles with different colors.

stick it on with few spots of aquarium cement.  cut the bottom high if you use under-gravel filters and if you can't hide them in the Styrofoam move the uplifts to the front corners.

  3. Hi if you want to make your own background try this link below from the practical fish keeping magazine on how to build an aquarium background. It does look good when finished.

Also to fix your background use aquarium silicon sealant, everbuild aqua mate is a good but cheap one. there is also a link there below for that from MP tools online.
