How do i make a 3x5 postcard?

Well, i am entering a contest and it requires you to mail a 3x5 postcard to them with information. Can i cut out a piece of paper and put a stamp on it and mail it?

almost, but not quite, the paper/card may need to be thicker than paper to be recognized as postercard per say, if you have heavy (lb) photo paper or

check with post office, they may have size regulations and blank cards for printing, thin bristol board may work, craft paper is too rough/ porous and may not be good for printer or mailing, also check dollar store or office supply store for blanks cards,
