I have the files. I just want to know how to copy them to a DVD disc in such a way that a DVD player will recognize the disc as a video disc and play the video. I also want to know what resolution the video file should be at in order to look good on a bigger screen . . .

  1. If you want to burn videos or music on a disk, you can't simply copy them on the disc, or the DVD player will not play them. So, you need a DVD Author software, I have been using Cucusoft DVD/VCD/SVCD Creator Pro

You could free download and try it at

  2. Cucusoft Video to DVD Creator is a good choice. It converts popular video formats such as AVI, MPEG, WMV, DivX, DV, VOB to DVD and burn DVD movie played on portable or home DVD player. Any video to to VCD/DVD/SVCD is even faster than real-time.

    Free download here:

Unbiased reviews and side-by-side comparisons of the DVD creator give you enough information to research the ins and outs of a particular product:

Also, you can search some other software:

  3. You'll probably need a DVD authoring program if your editing program doesn't allow for making DVDs.  I use DVD Pro from Apple, but this is a very high-end program and I don't know what lower end programs are available.  I did a google search and found something like this:  http://www.keronsoft.com/dvdbuilder.html  Looks like it's free.

  4. I would recommend you download ConvertXtoDVD. Ive been using it for a year now, on windows, never had a problem!

It will convert your video files to the dvd format readable by all standard dvd players, then burn automatically to DVD!

it is easy to use, fast and it works perfect for me.. give it a try, you'll love it

    1. Download ConvertXtoDVD from vso official site here:

    http://www.vso-software.fr/products/conv...

It can convert any video file.. like

avi, divx, xvid, mov, mkv, flv ,youtube,  mpeg1, mpeg2, mpeg-, nsv, dvr-ms, tivo, ts, ifo, vob, asf, wmv, realmedia, rm, rmvb, ogm,

    2. Add or drag-n-drop as many video files as the DVD can handle

    3. Insert blank DVD

    4. Click "Convert"

    5. Enjoy watching those video files on your home DVD player! =)

ConvertXtoDVD has a lot of extra nice features too,

for example you can make your own DVD menu or auto-generate it, add subtitles, auto-burn to dvd or save your conversion.
