How do i make a cool memory box?

i want to make a cute memory box with my friend but i dont know what to stick on the sides and stuff. any ideas please? pictures would be a great help also =]]

First, you paint the box inside and out and let it dry.

Wrapping paper decoupaged on them looks great.  It comes in so many designs and it's very inexpensive.  After you get it covered, you can add ribbon, lace, etc.

I made a recipe box like that and it turned out really neat.

If you go to Michaels or Joanns they have Tins, paint can tins or lunch box looking tins, you can cover them with cardstock, and a glue called modpodge, or even really stron double sided tape, Then you can put really pretty embellishments, ribbon, buttons ect. They come out so pretty! I've made a few before.
