How do i make a ghost effect in my videos?

i need to knwo how to make people/things a bit see-through but be able to still see them, and make them look as if they were ghosts

  2. The most common way is a kind of "double exposure" effect. you shoot the "ghost" subject in a dark room with only the subject lit. Then in editing, you overlay the background scenes with the "ghost" track. The ghost track should have a filter setting of partial transparency or use a non-linear mix type wipe if available, or a partial mix may work too. Some programs will allow a partial transparency key or chroma key, this would be the method used by hollywood. Putting some green color patches on the ghost subject clothing to match the green screen allows the ghost to have "holes" for an even spookier effect.

  3. I'd do it by locking down the camera and shooting the scenary with and without the actors.  The clip with the actors is overlayed on the scenary only track and the transparency adjusted so that the actors appear to be see through.  Anything that's going to move but has to appear solid will need to be part of the scenary only shot.
