  1. ask your grandad

we used to make them out of old pram wheels, some planks of wood and some string.

a proper "blue peter job" except for the squeezy bottle!!!!!!!!

    WHAT PLANS????????????????

  2. Prepare to make blue prints by getting some graph paper and a pencil (Look at the link given below).

Buy a big plank of wood to make the base of the kart but it should not be too thin or thick because if its thick your motors wont run properly and if its too thin then it will crack.

Buy four small wheels (three if you want it to be like a trike) the wheels should be of rubber for best friction never go for those cheap plastic ones.

Determine what kind of go kart you would like to build: a fun off-road go kart or a drag kart.

Measure out everything from bottom to top. Determine whether or not it's going to have a sheet and metal body.

Invest in a good bunch of round tubing for roll cage and frame fabricating.

Put in a CBR600RR engine or a type of a small engine but use the CBR600RR if you want to blast down the sand drag strip instantly (not recommended for small children).

Go to a go-kart store and buy a steering wheel for your kart (The butterfly steering wheel works the best).

Buy a go kart steering system with a slightly extended steering stem.

Paint the kart to make it look as cool as possible (Optional).

Use help from some friends and adults to make the go kart

(Take help from the blue prints in the link below)

Take part in a go kart contest (but ask permission from your parents first)And win and make me proud.

Customize your go kart alot and take care of it (keep it clean and well oiled)

Also install better handling and performance devices.

These are obviosly not all the steps to make a go kart so if you want more information go to the link givn below, All the steps can't be mentioned here because there are many types of go karts but this article should be enough to start you off.

    [edit] TipsTake help from adults.

Don't install too many electrical devices in it if you want to drive it in rain.

There are many things to keep in mind when driving a go kart in rain like never oversteer, never go too fast because it can cause to make your brakes fail, burn out your engine and make you slip.

Always wear a helmet (I know it does'nt look cool and wearing it is embarrising but you will thank me when you crash somewhere and your helmet saves you from serios injuries)

[edit] WarningsA CBR600RR engine is an extremely high performance engine it it is not recommended to put one on unless you intend to race.

Welders, cutting saws and torches can be fatal; always wear gloves and safety glasses.

Always have a ready first aid kit with you.

[edit] Things You'll NeedLarge wooden plank

    tape measure(Optional)

    plenty of round tubing

    welder

    table saw
