You have to find someone to sponsor you.  I recall seeing a site, a manufacturer who was actually looking for ideas...dang I have no idea who it was either...look for auto companies, their websites and even You Tube, some of the new cars they are making and check out comments etc. and you just might luck into something.

I'm sure companies are looking for innovative ideas if you have something that is brilliant I cant see them overlooking it.

You might want to consider getting a patent on it too or getting some deal in writing before proceding.
