You need thin plastic, since you are unlikely to find to find horn.   If you look up plastic sheet dealers in your area, call and ask if they have a scrap bin because you need a few inches of thin plastic, then go.  Thin white PVC is used for tub and shower liners and laminated plastic (Formica is one brand) is available at Home Depot or counter makers.

  Cut it to shape with a coping saw or jig saw around the hole and down below the strings, using sandpaper wrapped around a dowel or other round object to smooth and shape the edges.   Glue it on with rubber cement or contact cement.
