I am 13 years old,but i have been around cars and engines all my life, so don't think i'm one of these stoopid tennagers just tryng to build it just to destroy it. I have an older rear engine snapper riding mower that i am wanting to turn in to somewhat of a racing mower. Not to go out and race or anything, but i want it to go pretty fast because i have quiet alot of land, but i don't want to spend a whole bunch of money to do it, so if you have any suggestions please tell me!!!!

  1. Get a good high compression go cart motor, change out the pulleys to give you better gearing, and have at it!!

  2. If the mower still works as a mower, I would clean it up, touch up the paint, oil the tires to make them shine, and sell it.  Take the money you get for it and buy a used ATV or dirt bike and work on getting that rideable.  Old Snappers are easy to get into good shape, the little steering bushings are cheap to buy if you need them, and the clutch is fairly cheap and easy to replace if you have an adult to help you.  Good luck and be safe!

  3. Check this out, it is the link to the U S Lawn Mower Racing Asoc.

  4. switch up the drive gear and the gear attached to the wheels
