How do i make a radio antenna longer(Its one of those flimsy ones where you have to attach it to something).?

My radio at work can only receive one station and i want to make it longer so i can get more stations. How do i make the flimsy radio antenna longer?

  1. Do mean the clear dipole type for F.M. that looks like a tee (T)?      If so, and your in a metal building you need to tape it to a window or get it outside of the window. You can get extra twin-lead from Radio Shack (in the U.S.) to extend the lead length to the radio. Don't add on to top of the tee, this is cut to the frequency of the F.M. Band.


  2. If it's an FM dipole (T-shaped), just add shielded wire to the leads betwen the radio and antenna, and move the dipole around until you get the best signal.  Amplified antenna systems that work can be had at a reasonable price (shop Radio Shack or a reputable store)  Don't ever buy one advertised in a general interest magazine as a super-duper signal getter (but wait, there's more, order now and we'll send you a second one free...) they're junk.
