Im a mens small body. About five foot six and can wear mediums but unfortunately i got stuck with an extra large soccer jersey and warm up pants. The pants have a draw string but I was wondering how i could lessen the volume of the short sleeves on my jersey as well as hem them down a little. Also I was wondering how I could make the pants smaller too. Im talking about making them less baggy and having them hug my leg. Same with the body around my stomach of my jersey. How can I do this without it looking messy (like using a safety pin) and have it be easy? Thanks.

  1. Wow, 2 sizes too large.  Quick solution: You need to run stitching inside down the seams the side and front/back seams of the pants and help a bit with the jersey. Think up to 1/2 inch on all seams. Use a wide stitch in case you need to adjust.

Problem with the top is the neck is also too large.  You can take a few tucked on the neck seams (if present).

Can't sew?  Friend, parent, or ask at the nearest dry cleaners if they can help or know of a alternations person.  If you have to turn the jersey back in at the end of the year, alterations must be temporary, no cutting to resize the garmet.
