i have the tazo passion tea in tea bags, but i don't know how much water im supposed to use and how many tea bags. how much water/tea bags should i use to just make a grande size like at starbucks? i don't want to use like 2-3 tea bags because thats a little too much for just a glass of passion iced tea. i get it all the time at startbucks but when i want to make them at home. i tried making it first with boiling water and putting a tea bag in the hot water, then but it in an iced glass and adding sugar to it to make it sweet (where as at starbucks they put the sweet syrup stuff) i also need help on how to make my own starbucks sweet syrup or where i could find it. it would help if you work starbucks, it would help lots! thanks!

  1. I won't compete with Crimson's answer because she "works" at SBUX.  I used to work there.  But I will sress the need to used more bags or less water to get the strong flavor once it's poured over ice. To make the syrup, I would suggest preparing it by heating up 3-4 TBSP of sugar in 1 cup of water (maybe 5 TBSP-I'm guessing because I would "eye" it.) Then, just keep this in a jar for future use. I also mentioned in another answer that SBUX sells the 32oz bottles for about $7. I think that's a bargain considering you don't have to use alot. For this drink you might want to try the orange flavor. yum! Oh, and then you pour tea, juice/syrup over ice and shake in a glass/mixer/shaker for 10 secs..

  2. I work at starbucks and you are basically right. Since the tea bags come premeasured for a large pitcher what I tell you may be less or more flavorful. Also when they are shaken it is 1/3 tea, 1/3 water(because it is concentrated in the pitchers and needs to be diluted.Unless you want the lemonade version, then it is unsweetened lemonade in place of water. and 1/3 ice(though less is better.)  I would suggest brewing one teabag like normal with only half the cup hot water, after 3min. take it out and fill the cup with cold water and ice(if you have a shaker it would help to make the tea colder throughout instead of just on top) and the syrup is literally just plain sugar in liquid form, so if you add the sugar(a decent amount, like 4-5 tbsp for the full syrup amount) before you add cold water it will dissolve and taste the same. Hope this works out and isn't written too confusing!
