How do i make a vertical smiley?

I saw my friend have a vertical :) in her messenger name. She wouldn't tell me how and said something about shifting it. Can anyone tell me all the symbols you can make. I accidentally made ♂ (i copied it) so can anyone tell me all the smileys and stuff please.

Is that what you mean? The horizontal smileys look kinda anime-ish. :-)

Well there are ^_^   @_@   0_0   >_< ... etc

But if it looked like a circle with a face, she probably used a character from the windings font.
