How do i make an external hard drive available on the web?

I have an external hard drive that i would like to make available on the web for me to access from any other computer.

Well, you can always use VNC or GotoMyPc then connect to the computer that has the drive attached.  Turning just an external drive into a server just isn't possible unless the drive has an operating system built into it that allows that type setup!  There are NAS drives that have a Linux OS attached that will allow FTP from remote but the FTP is necessary for security!

Drives by themselves don't have the necessary computing power to allow IP addressing, security, etc.

Using remote desktop like VNC etc will allow you to remotely access the drive and have security.

Bad Idea

You will need to have it connected to a computer or server via SSH or VNC for security and operating issue.
