How do i make ballistics gel at home ?

knox geletin works great.  you have to make it and have it in the freezer totally like u were maken it regularlly.  then put it in a metal bowl or something above a pot of boiling water.  like how u melt chocolate.  heat it till it melts but take it off right before it starts to boil. DONT LET IT BOIL.  the freeze it then do the process over and over about 5 times.  on the last time after melting it pour it into a container what ever shape u want.  then put it in the refrigerator.  let it solidify and get cool.  then pop it out of the container and ur ready to go.  Has similar properties to tissue (not bone)  can be remelted after your tests or whatever back into the shape as many times as u want just make sure to take everything out like dirt or somethen.  have fun

I have never heard of making your own ballistics gel, and it costs quite a bit, so... it probably isn't possible.

ballistics gel is nothing top secret, or special. it is simply gelatin powder and water. You can buy it at the grocery store.

Use 1 cup gelatin for every 9 cups of room-temperature water, mix, pour it into the form you want, and put it in the fridge. Same stuff the pros use.

The guys on this web-site use water filled jugs as a substitute.  The have formulas on the site for how many jugs equal how much flesh, etc
