im working on a project and i want to make this piece of paper look wicked old..like ive had it for more than 20 years. i want to finish it by the end of the week..but i dont know if that will happen.

i hand wrote the document in blue pen ink

i rubbed a moist tea bag on the paper and while it was wet i used a razer to shave the edges a bit. then i folded it let it dry. then used my old hair straightener to burn the edges. it looks amazing and really old but there is one problem. the ink looks fresh and now i wish i used pencil because maybe that would have looked older.

i really dont want to do the whole thing over because it looks so good the way it is. but does anyone know how to make the ink look more faded quickly? in a few days would be awesome.

thanks so much :]

  1. put some water over the letter. then it will look runny. like sum1 burnt it then threw it in water to put it out. also an eraser will still work a tiny bit making it look a tad faded. i did this for school once and did everything you did.. i even made the mistakw of using pen. so i used the tips i gave u above andit turned out good. the next time i did it i used oil pastell. it worked Awsome for fading, because you can smudge it.

  2. i think the problem might be the ink in which you wrote it in. you might want to try using another ink, maybe black so it's not so bright on the paper, that is alcohol based or water based to that the water will effect it. when i've aged paper before, i write it, then crumple it up into a loose ball. re-open so that it's flat and THEN soak it in tea or coffee. that way, the stain naturally goes to the creases. then fold it and dry it. this only takes a few hours. hopefully this will work better for you. it's always worked well for me.
