How do i make burned cds work in my car?

can someone tell me how i can make burned cds work in my car. They dont seem to read or accept mp3 format

  1. Easy answer to this question, buy a new stereo that will play MP3 formatted music, other wise it will not happen. The only format that is playable in a factory deck is WAV files. The other thing, most factory decks will not read CD-R or CD-RW, you really need an after market deck for that.


  2. Double check that your putting MP3's on your cd. If your using Windows Media just use Data cd setting. Remember if your downloading or ripping from cd's Windows will make your music WMA unless you tell it to rip to MP3. Make sure that you dont have too many files and that the name of the file isn't too long. Some radios have trouble reading files with long names.

    Also make sure that your radio says MP3 on it. If it doenst then it wont read MP3 cd's

  3. regular CD players in the car can only read WAV format. you'll need to get a CD player capable of reading mp3s.
